Sometimes I like to share personal photos on my blog. I love having a space on the internet to tell our family's story. Over Memorial Day weekend, we went to Grand Lake with Scott's family. Emersyn had already been there for several days with her grandparents. They did lots of fun things before we got there, but I asked them to keep her from fishing until her daddy got there because I knew how important it was for him to experience this.
Emersyn was a natural. She loved it. I really expected her to be squeamish and not like the fish after they were caught. Not only was she interested, she wanted to touch and hold the fish too!
It's days like this cloudy Sunday, spent on the lake, that I'm so thankful for photography. I originally started learning how to work a camera/photoshop so I could take better pictures of my kids. Days like this are what make me happy. Being able to look back on this day in film (or digital film) and see the exact look on my husband's face as he sees his daughter holding her first fish. That is where my heart is.
