Newborn Photographer Stillwater, Oklahoma - Happy New Year

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and Happy New Year. I'm so happy to have you here. Blogs are something I really need to spend more time on, but it's hard for me to always come up with something to say. I haven't blogged much in a while because the fall season was super busy for me. It was great, but some things fell to the way side. I'm so thankful for all of the families who hired me this fall! So anywho, I'm finally carving out an afternoon to sit and work on blogging. There are 2 things I want to talk about in this blog. 1) is to share some more images from beautiful Joy Ann's newborn session. And 2) is to update you on the goings on at KLP.

To get us started...look at this adorable little lady! OMG! I truly feel so lucky and blessed to get to snuggle each baby that comes my way. And Joy Ann was extra special because I'm friends with her mama. She was 5 days old for her photoshoot, and oh so sleepy! It was perfect. I did get a look at her eyes for a short bit, and they are mesmerizing. Such a pretty blue. I was amazed at how much she looks like her older brother and sister (especially her big sister). I will share a pic from their fall maternity/family session and maybe you will be able to spot the resemblance.

A huge bonus about baby Joy Ann's session is that I got to shoot it in my NEW STUDIO! I'm sure most of you know by now that I opened up a studio space for my newborn photography in December. I am so thrilled! It is the perfect fit for me. It's a part of the Dragonfly Village (website here and Facebook here). We are located down town on 8th street right next to Blue Spruce. I am planning (hopefully) to write up a blog post about how awesome Dragonfly is to share in the next couple weeks (someone hold me to this lol). So you guys can visit back then and read more about the awesome services we offer.

So that brings me to #2 of why I'm blogging today. I wanted to chat with ya'll about what's happening this year at KLP. For me, 2017 will be a year that I'm focus more on Maternity/Birth/Newborn. I love family sessions, and will always do them, but my heart lies with all things BABY! So I'm cutting down on the time that I offer family sessions. I want your sessions to be amazing, and what's not amazing is extreme cold and extreme heat lol. So I will be photographing families March-May and Sept-November. I will still be doing maternity sessions and milestone sessions (like cake smashes and such) during the off season though, so don't worry.

I also have a super fun idea for the summer and I hope you guys love it as much as I do. I will devote a whole blog post just for that announcement later this spring, but SPLASH PAD SESSIONS. How fun will that be, right!!

And now on to my last thing...birth. I love births. I'm sure most of you know this. There is magic in the air when a baby is born. It's truly a miracle, and I'm floored every time I bare witness to it. So I've set myself a goal. I want to photograph one-two births every month for 2017. I don't have a January birth, and I'm willing to offer a HUGE discount to someone who is due in Jan. I want to do more of what feeds my soul, and for me, that's birth.

Thank you guys for reading all the way to the end. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season as we gear up for 2017. I know it will be a great year!

With love,

KatieLew
